I'm so glad you are here
Hi, I'm Sherise, founder of Soul Deep Wellness.
I'm a mother, writer, facilitator, healer and spiritual counselor.
My work is rooted in lived experience, ancestral wisdom and embodied presence.
I don't believe healing is about fixing what is broken.
I believe it is about being met fully enough to remember who you are.
Soul Deep Wellness was born in 2019, but this work began long before that through my own healing journey, community work, and a commitment to meeting myself with honesty.
The way I work draws from psychology, neuroscience, somatic practice, energy medicine and ancestral healing; not as techniques applied to you, but as ways of listening and responding to what is alive in each moment.
My Story
Before I was a practitioner, I was a person searching for spaces where I could tell the truth.
Spaces where I didn't have to perform strength, explain my pain or justify my experience.
For more than twenty years I have worked within health, social care and community settings, supporting people navigating trauma, addiction, chronic illness, grief and complex systems.
Alongside this professional experience sits a deeply personal one.
I know what it means to live through trauma, illness and profound change. I know what it is to rebuild trust with a body that has been overwhelmed and to find healing not through fixing myself, but through being witnessed, supported and given space to reconnect with who I am.
That understanding shapes everything I do.
My Roots
I am of Jamaican and Cuban heritage and part of the wider African diaspora.
Questions of identity, belonging, ancestry and remembrance have always lived close to my heart and continue to shape both my personal journey and professional practice.
I have always experienced the world intuitively, with a sensitivity to both what is visible and what exists beneath the surface.
Today, my work brings together science and spirit, intuition and inquiry, personal healing and collective liberation.

How I Hold This Work
I am an experienced and accredited Spiritual Counsellor, Usui Reiki Master Teacher and Somatic Focalising Embodiment Practitioner.
My professional background includes trauma-informed group facilitation, advocacy and therapeutic support with people navigating domestic abuse, addiction, chronic illness and marginalisation. I have collaborated with organisations including the NHS, St Mungo's, Inspirit Training and Development, and Advance Women's Charity.
At the heart of my work is a commitment to creating spaces where people feel safe enough to be honest, supported enough to explore, and empowered enough to reconnect with their own wisdom.
My role is not to fix or rescue, it is to listen deeply, hold space with care and walk alongside people as they strengthen their relationship with themselves, their communities and their capacity for healing.
Living the work
Alongside my professional practice, I live with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), Fibromyalgia and I am neurodivergent.
These experiences have profoundly shaped my understanding of healing, care and what it means to live within the realities of a changing body.
They have taught me about capacity, grief, adaptation, resilience and the importance of moving at a pace that honours what is actually possible.
I know what it is to live in a body that has been overwhelmed, to navigate fatigue, pain, and the unpredictability of capacity.
To be forced to slow down, not as a choice, but as a necessity.
This has changed how I relate to healing so I don’t push and I don’t override.
Instead, I work with what is actually here, building capacity, gently and honestly, over time.
I hold deep respect for bodies that have been misunderstood, dismissed, or pushed beyond their limits.
And I am committed to creating spaces where trust with the body can be rebuilt, at a pace that is sustainable, and real.
If You're Wondering Whether This Work Is For You
I tend to work with people who feel deeply.
People who have lived a lot.
People who have had to carry more than they should.
People who are longing to reconnect with themselves, their truth and their capacity to live differently.
Some come seeking healing.
Some come seeking guidance.
Some come seeking community.
Many arrive because they know something needs to change, even if they cannot yet name what that is.
You do not need the right language.
You do not need to have it all figured out.
You only need a willingness to be met.
And when you're ready, you're welcome here.

With love,
Sherise Reid
